Home Starter Packages
What are Home Starter Packages?
Our Home Starter Packages are designed to provide to those who are starting again from a situation from which they were either unable to provide for themselves or were in an unsafe environment and are looking for refuge. They essentially help to turn a house into a home. The packages can consist of various household items depending on whatever is needed by the recipient. This can include items of furniture, such as beds, sofas and cabinets, as well as small electrical items such as kettles, irons and toasters. They can also include clothing, bed clothing, curtains and dinner sets.
Who are they for?
Home Starter Packages are offered to people who have been given a place to live to seek refuge but are missing essential items within their new home, such as furniture or a way to cook food. This can include people who were previously homeless, people fleeing from domestic violence, people that have recently been released from prison or even people that have been released from hospital but without a place to live. In order to discover and determine who may be eligible to receive a Home Starter Package, a referral agency will get in touch to provide details such as name, contact details and date of birth.
How can I contribute?
You can help contribute to our Home Starter Packages by making a donation. This could be small or large items around the house that you no longer need or want. To find out more about making donations to the charity please read the Donations blog page.
